Allyson Morgan is an actress, writer, producer, Columbus, Ohio native, and graduate of The Ohio State University. She is the founder and Executive Director of the award-winning film and theatre collective F*It Club. She loves fruit pies, bourbon, international travel, and naps.
As actress: Most recently, she has been seen onstage with F*It Club (world premieres by Kevin Artigue, Lucy Boyle, Jon Caren, Sarah Sander, Amy Staats, Kate Gersten, Mark Schultz, Lucy Boyle, and Nick Jones) and EST/Youngblood, and has performed in readings all over New York at such theatres as Playwrights Horizons, The Lark, New York Theatre Workshop, & Jewish Plays Project. As writer: 4 Dates, a short film which she co-wrote and co-produced, was awarded Best Comedic Film at the Zero Film Festival and was a selection at the Drive-In Film Festival. She has been commissioned to write short pieces for the New York play series Shotz and #serials@theflea, as well as for the One Minute Play Festival and videos for the online TDF Theatre Dictionary. Her short play What Goes Up was a finalist in the Samuel French Festival, reaching the top 10 out of 900 submissions. She was named one of just five winners out of thousands of entrants from over 63 countries in the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series; her short film Need For Speed (Dating) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Additional freelance writing assignments have included published short pieces for Tribeca Shortlist, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Nantucket Film Festival, and The Best Advice in Six Words. She was one of six creators selected out of hundreds for the iTV Fest pitch competition and one of twelve selected finalists in the Comedy Script competition for Catalyst Content Festival. She has twice been awarded a Juno Leadership Residency through the Omega Institute. She is represented by Circle of Confusion.
As producer: In addition to Executive Producing ten years of F*It Club's programming, including ten seasons of "The Spring Fling," five short films, and "Webseries: The Webseries," Allyson has served as Festival Producer for the Jewish Plays Project's Open Festival, Festival Producer for the BEAT Festival, Festival Producer for the Indie Street Film Festival, a Producer for the Waterwell Drama Program, and co-producer of The Green Plays in conjunction with Gowanus Art + Production. For two years at The Peoples Improv Theater, she produced a sold out run of Hold On To Your Butts, a shot-for-shot recreation parody of the greatest dinosaur movie of all time featuring only two actors and a foley artist, which was named a "critic's pick" and one of the "top ten comedy shows of 2014" by Time Out New York. Allyson recently was a part of the Webby Award-winning team for Dave Holstein and Alan Schmuckler's Wait, Wait, Don't Kill Me, producing the podcast for Wondery Media's Secrets, Crimes, and Audiotape. She also created and produced, with frequent collaborator Kevin Laibson, Ghosted, an AR experience for the Magic Leap One headset, which was awarded “Most Innovative Immersive Experience” at the North Bend Film Festival.
As freelance jill-of-all-trades: She has additionally served as Associate Director of the Waterwell Summer Theater Lab, Outreach Coordinator for Tropfest New York, Digital Operations Director for Nantucket Film Festival, Volunteer Coordinator for the First Time Fest, Event Coordinator for the Lower East Side Film Festival, Events Manager for NewFest and the Hamptons International Film Festival, and Casting Associate at Jodi Collins Casting and Vh1.
